In Women
Polycystic ovary syndrome and irregular periods often improve with weight loss. Fertility may increase; therefore, avoiding pregnancy for the first 12–18 months after surgery is recommended.
In Men
Low testosterone levels related to obesity may rise with weight loss. Improvements in erectile function may be observed. Urological evaluation is arranged when indicated.
Body Image and Psychological Dimension
Rapid weight loss can affect body image, relationships, and sexual life. Psychological support and open communication are important during this period.
Important Note
Sexual health is highly individual. If concerns arise, open discussion with the relevant specialist and appropriate evaluation are recommended.
